I've always been interested in the fine arts. When I was little I had admirations of being a cartoonist. As I grew up, a clothing designer, a painter, a photographer and many others. During my explorations I came to the decision that I wanted to pursue a carrier in the arts and at the same time do something good for others. I'm working on a fine arts degree and hope to specialize in jewelry design. I want all of this to be involved with the Fair Trade Industry witch insures that everyone involved in the production process gets paid a fair and livable wage.

The fair trade movement is growing force that doesn't think
the way to change the world is by eradicating the way of capitalism we know
but to revise the system with checks and balances to assure that
people can be protected in where they work and how much they get paid.

My family has always shopped as conscientious as possible for the amount of money that we had available. We have always been aware of the world outside what we see and recognize that everything that we buy has a history and people that had to work to produce it. As a little kid I remember taking part of my allowance and donating it to a charity that had to do with aiding children over seas, children that had no chance at the opportunities that I would see. Even though the amount of money was small there was always open dialog between the child I was donating to and myself. Having this chance to feel the impact of something so small in such a big way keeps me hopeful that the things I chose to do now will make a bigger difference to even more people.
I have hope that if people are made aware of the strife that happens when mass industry that has little or no compassion for the people who are doing the labor they will do what they can to buy conscientiously with businesses and manufactures who treat there employs with respect.
